White House hits out at provocation amid growing tensions in Taiwan

The White House is defending its decision to send two U.S. warships through international waters in the Taiwan Strait

It comes amid rising tensions in the region and weeks after U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s controversial visit to Taiwan.

Now the White House says the warships transit was planned weeks ago, and not in response to Pelosi’s visit.

Biden’s Press Secretary hitting out at China for what it calls “provocations” in the region.
