18-month long investigation heats up, one-week after FBI Trump raid

One week after that unprecedented early morning raid on former U.S. President Donald Trump’s private residence in Florida—another probe is heating up. This time, it’s an 18-month investigation in the state of Georgia.

In this separate probe in Fulton County, Georgia, the district attorney is examining whether Trump—or those in his inner circle—broke any Georgia state laws in their efforts to have the 2020 presidential election result overturned.

In an order handed down on Monday, former Trump lawyer and NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani has been instructed to testify.

However, Giuliani had argued he was unable to travel to Atlanta to testify during proceedings because of health issues.

After reviewing the matter, a Superior Court Judge instructed him to appear on Wednesday.

Additionally, the D.A. has filed petitions in an attempt to compel testimony from several Trump associates and advisers.

Recently, the investigation is accelerating in an effort to move along before the all-important November midterm elections and–a potential announcement as to whether or not Trump would run for a second presidential term in 2024.

Reserve Bank of Australia plans to ban credit card surcharges despite banks warning of potential higher fees and weaker rewards.

In Short:
– The RBA plans to ban surcharges on debit and credit card transactions, supported by consumer group Choice.
– Major banks oppose the ban, warning it could lead to higher card fees and reduced rewards for credit card users.

The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) intends to implement a ban on surcharges associated with debit and credit card transactions. Consumer advocacy group Choice endorses this initiative, arguing that it is unjust for users of low-cost debit cards to incur similar fees as credit card holders.Banner

The major banks, however, are opposing this reform. They caution that the removal of surcharges could prompt customers to abandon credit cards due to diminished rewards.

A final decision by the RBA is anticipated by December 2025.
