Musician sues Kanye West over alleged copyright

A musician has sued Kanye West for allegedly sampling a song without the artist’s permission

The rapper who legally changed his name to Ye last year is under fire for the song “Flowers” from his album “Donda 2”.

Jefferson claims a sample from his 1986 dance song “Move Your Body” is repeated at least 22 times within Ye’s song.

West’s representative is yet to comment on the lawsuit.

Ultra International, which owns the rights to Jefferson’s song, also hasn’t commented on the issue saying the lawsuit speaks for itself.

The lawsuit says that “Flowers” sampled “Move Your Body” without a license and criticised West’s hypocrisy in advocating for artists’ rights while taking them away from other artists.
