Amnesty International is accusing Russia of war crimes in the city of Kharkiv

They say cluster bombs have killed hundreds of civilians in the north-east of Ukraine.

In a newly-released report, Amnesty says “the repeated bombardments of residential neighbourhoods are indiscriminate attacks”.

Cluster bombs release dozens of grenades into mid-air, and scatters them over a large-scale area. The weapons are banned under UN conventions.

It comes as Russia continues to move in on the east with full force, using artillery bombardment to gain ground.

The attacks have claimed the life of a former British soldier. His family posted to social media saying he was a “true hero”

Meanwhile, Ukraine is establishing two routes through Poland and Romania to export grain to avert a global food crisis.

Two British men have also been denied pardon, after being sentenced to death by Russian forces in Ukraine.

The two men and a Moroccan were captured while fighting for the war-torn nation.

Britain has slammed the court’s decision demanding immunity for the prisoners of war.
