Footage of men assaulting women within a restaurant in China has gone viral on the country’s social media app Weibo

The violence occurred in a restaurant in the northeastern city of Tangshan.

The incident has rehashed the issue of how women are treated in China, with many on social media and on state TV calling for punishment.

The video shows a man approaching a woman dining in the restaurant at around 2:40 am, he then hits her after she pushes him away.

This then grew into a larger conflict with additional men attacking the woman and her dining partners.

The fight was then taken outside.

The two women are now being treated in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
