Boris Johnson pictured drinking in leaked photos

New images have been leaked showing Prime Minister Boris Johnson drinking at an event in Downing Street during the nation’s strict Covid lockdown period

News network iTV published the pictures, alleging they were taken on November 13 2020 during a celebration for a colleague who was leaving their job.

The Metropolitan Police have already issued fines relating to gatherings held on this date.

A spokesperson at Number 10 says authorities had access to all relevant information, including these images, at the time of investigating.

It comes as calls grow for Johnson to stand down from his position of prime minister, with Scottish Conservative leader Douglas Ross saying the images will make the public ‘very angry’.

The British people are still waiting for senior civil servant Sue Gray to publish her report into the illegal gatherings, which is expected to be released within days.

As police wrap up their investigation, 83 individuals have been fined for parties held over eight separate dates, with Johnson and his wife included in this count.

Responding to the newly-surfaced photos, Deputy Labour leader Angela Rayner says the British people deserve better.
