The number one tennis player in the world has retired for a second time, at just 25 years of age and at the top of her game, Ash Barty will hang up her racquets

Barty took to Instagram to make the announcement.

Her great friend and former tennis player Casey Dellacqua was the inspiration behind Barty’s first comeback after she retired from tennis to play cricket.

Barty asked Dellacqua to again be part of the moment when she retired for a second time

Barty won the Australian Open this year, adding to her Wimbledon and French Open titles.

She retires as the best player in the world, having held the world number one ranking for the past two years.
