Russia calls on China for military assistance in Ukraine

Published

on

China has been asked by Russia to help in their attack on Ukraine, sending shockwaves through the intelligence community.

The request reportedly includes drones.

If Beijing agreed to this, it could have large ramifications between China and Russia and the West and its NATO Allies.

It comes as U-S National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan is set to meet China’s Foreign Minister in Rome.

We spoke with Bruce Wolpe from the U-S Studies Centre, who told Ticker NEWS it’s unclear what President Putin’s motives really are.

Ukraine wants no-fly zone

Ukraine’s President Zelensky is urging a Ukraine no-fly zone or “Russian rockets will fall” on NATO soil.

Kyiv has confirmed that video-conference talks will begin with Moscow.

The talks come after several failed attempts at diplomacy since the war broke out nearly three weeks ago.

35 people were killed and over 130 sent to hospital following Russian airstrikes on a large military base near the Ukrainian city of Lviv.

Russian warplanes

It’s believed more than 30 missiles were fired from Russian warplanes over the Black and ASOF seas.

The attack comes a day after the Kremlin threatened to attack Western weapon shipments to Ukraine.

It comes as a humanitarian crisis unfolds across Europe. Households across the U-K have been offered 35- pounds a month to open their homes to people fleeing the war in Ukraine.

The UK Housing Secretary Michael Gove says tens of thousands of people could come to Britain under the scheme.

The U-K Refugee Council is concerned about the level of support for those traumatised by war.
