Russia’s ambassador to the European Union says diplomacy is still possible and it could be the key to de-escalation on Ukraine’s border

Vladimir has also questioned why the west is failing to comment on the Ukrainian soldiers facing Russia.

This follows a number of high-level diplomatic meetings over the past week, with French President Macron meeting with his Russian counterpart.

While US President Joe Biden hosted German Chancellor Olaf Scholz at the White House.

As 100,000 Russian troops remain positioned on their nation’s border with eastern Europe, some Western countries warn a Russian attack could occur at any moment.

Macron’s intense few days of diplomacy, there are suggestions the so-called Minsk agreements could be used as a basis to de-escalate tensions.

The Minsk protocol sought to end war in eastern Ukraine back in 2014.

France says diplomatic talks will resume in the coming days.
