Apple is addressing issues related to cracking screens on its recently launched foldable iPhones, priced around $2,000.The company acknowledges an inner-display problem affecting a “small number” of iPhone Duo units and encourages users facing problems to reach out to AppleCare for possible replacements.

Early users have reported various issues, including inner screens cracking, horizontal bright lines appearing, and audible crunching noises when the device is unfolded.

Apple has stated that the defects impact only a limited number of devices, with warranty-covered units being replaced through AppleCare.

Screen issues

If a device is out of warranty, repairs for the inner screen will cost $999.

The repair firm iFixit highlighted that the hinge design might cause the flexible panel to press against an internal support bar or become susceptible to debris.

In addition to screen replacements, Apple mentioned that the nano-texture cover layer can be replaced via AppleCare+ for $19 in U.S. markets.

Consumers seeking information on AppleCare+ warranty coverage or how to arrange appointments at Apple Stores for hardware issues can find assistance through Apple’s customer service.

Customers are encouraged to monitor their devices for any signs of issues as they adapt to the new technology.

Apple continues to investigate and monitor the situation to ensure customer satisfaction and product quality.
