A network outage at Mumbai Airport prompted staff to switch to manual check-in procedures.Despite the airport operator stating that flight operations were unaffected, Flightradar24 reported that 327 flights were delayed by around 9.30 pm, with average delays of 50 minutes.

The outage began at approximately 7.05 pm and lasted about 50 minutes, impacting check-in and boarding processes for passengers travelling with IndiGo and Air India.

Confusion in departure halls was compounded by gate changes and crew delays, according to airport sources.

Operational issues

Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL), the operator of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), confirmed the disruption and implemented manual procedures to minimise passenger inconvenience.

MIAL reassured that essential airport services continued despite the outage.

Data from Flightradar24 indicated that 13% of flights had been cancelled in addition to the delays.

The exact link between the network outage and these cancellations remains unclear.

Airport teams are working to resolve the technical problems while maintaining essential services through manual processing.

Passengers are reminded to stay informed about their flight status during such disruptions.

For updates, it is advisable to check official sources or contact airlines directly.

Air traffic is expected to return to normal once the technical issues are fully resolved.
