The tropical US city to host F1 race for the next 10 years

Welcome to Miami! Formula One has finalised a 10-year deal to race in Miami from 2022.

The Hard Rock Stadium – the home of NFL team Miami Dolphins – will hist the race, which has been in the pipeline for years.

It will become the second Formula One race to be staged in the United States, aong with Austin’s Circuit a permanent fixture on the calendar since 2012.

“America is such a big place and it always felt like we needed two races, if not more there, to integrate with the audience because they are such big sporting fans. When Miami comes on the calendar that is going to be the favourite spot for everyone.”

A date for the Miami race is yet to be announced, but locals are aiming to design a best-in-class unique fan experience, reflecting the city’s diversity.

The awesome-looking new circuit has 19 corners and a predicted average speed of around 223km/h or 138mph.
