Over 46 people have been found dead inside a truck

The dead people were found inside the tractor-trailer on the south-west side of San Antonio.

A U.S. official confirmed over 40 people have been found dead inside a tractor-trailer in a presumed migrant smuggling attempt in South Texas.

The official, cited by AP, says 16 others in the truck were taken to hospitals in the San Antonio, where the bodies were found Monday.

According to emergency personnel, reportedly an 18 wheeler packed with illegal aliens was found abandoned in the city’s southwestern edge.

Local Police say more than six people were also taken to hospital.

Who are the victims?

The people inside the truck are believed to be undocumented migrants, reported NBC affiliate WOAI-TV.
