Three Chinese astronauts have returned to Earth after spending six months in China’s space station

This was the second and longest crewed mission to the unfinished Tiangong Space Station.

After 183 days on the space station the astronauts landed in the Inner Mongolia desert at around 10am local time on Saturday.

The crew travelled for 9 hours on the Shenzhou 13 spacecraft.

The trip was full of historical moments too, with Wang Yaping being the first Chinese woman to visit the Tianhe Space Station and the first Chinese woman to conduct a spacewalk.

This was one of 11 missions planned to complete the construction of the Tiangong space station with the first launched in April last year.

The next Shenzhou 14 crew is to blast off from Earth in June.
