New international routes

Nashville International Airport (BNA) will see four new nonstop routes beginning in 2027, including Liberia (LIR) in February and Aruba (AUA) in March.

Southwest will also launch new services to Nassau (NAS) and Providenciales (PLS) in June.

These new routes will be exclusively operated by Southwest’s Boeing 737 aircraft.

Austin Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) is set to gain four additional international routes.

Direct flights from Austin to San José (SJO) in Costa Rica will commence in March, complemented by three new routes to Liberia, Punta Cana (PUJ), and Nassau starting in June.

Southwest holds a significant market share at Austin, currently operating over 40% of flights there.

This expansion aligns with a broader $4 billion improvement plan at Austin Airport.

Final new routes include flights from Las Vegas to Puerto Vallarta (PVR) starting November 1, 2026.

Columbus and Pittsburgh will also gain routes to Punta Cana, commencing in March and June 2027, respectively.

Competition is expected on the Columbus and Pittsburgh routes due to Breeze Airways’ involvement.

Southwest continues to cement its dominance in the leisure and travel sectors.

The airline aims to enhance customer options while meeting the growing demand for international travel.

Southwest has established itself as a key player in the low-cost carrier market.
