Elected on May 8, the pope urged for an “authentic and lasting peace” in Ukraine and called for a ceasefire in Gaza, along with the release of all Israeli hostages.

He also expressed support for the recent ceasefire between India and Pakistan.

The Pope stated that he was praying to God to grant the world the “miracle of peace.”
