OpenAI President Greg Brockman stated that the model can tackle unclear problems with minimal guidance.

He noted it sets a foundation for future computer usage and work methodologies.

OpenAI aims to keep pace with competitors like Google and Anthropic, which recently unveiled Claude Mythos Preview, capturing Wall Street’s attention.

GPT-5.5 reportedly excels at data analysis, code writing and debugging, software operation, online research, and document creation.

OpenAI confirmed the model maintains its “High” risk classification but does not cross the “Critical” cybersecurity threshold.

Mia Glaese, OpenAI’s vice president of research, detailed the extensive testing and cyber safeguards implemented before launch.

The risks AI presents have heightened awareness among tech executives and government officials following Anthropic’s rollout concerns.

GPT-5.5 is currently available to OpenAI’s paid subscribers in ChatGPT and through the coding assistant Codex.

The model will soon be integrated into the application programming interface, requiring additional safeguards.

Rolling out now

OpenAI’s advancements reflect the ongoing pursuit of innovation in artificial intelligence.

Future iterations will continue to focus on maintaining user safety while enhancing capabilities.

Demand for AI solutions remains strong across various sectors.

Continuous development in this space is expected to shape the future of technology.
