Nancy Pelosi’s husband sentenced to jail

The husband of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has pleaded guilty to driving under the influence causing injury

Paul Pelosi was sentenced to serve five days in jail and fined more than $6,000 and is also required to complete a three-month DUI class.

Mr. Pelosi did not appear in the courtroom, with his defence attorney submitting his plea in writing.

He was arrested on May 28 while driving his Porsche on Highway 29, near Oakville Cross Road.

Mr. Pelosi was hit by a Jeep, with California Highway Patrol officers blaming him for causing the crash. They say Pelosi was under the influence of alcohol.

Pelosi’s blood sample had a 0.082 alcohol content, and it is illegal to drive in California with a Blood Alcohol Content of 0.08% or more.
