Rishi Sunak becomes Britain’s THIRD leader this year

Rishi Sunak has officially become Britain’s 57th Prime Minister. He is the third premier in just 50 days and will waste no time grappling with the economic and political turmoil gripping the country.

King Charles formally asked Mr Sunak to form a new government shortly following Liz Truss’ resignation.

In Ms Truss’ farewell address on Downing Street this morning, she wished her successor well with the mammoth task at hand. Pointing to the cost of living crisis and war in Ukraine, she said: “We continue to battle through a storm – but I believe in Britain, I believe in the British people and I know that brighter days lie ahead.”

The appointment of Rishi Sunak as Prime Minister comes just 50 days after he quit as Chancellor of the Exchequer.

He will now have to grapple with navigating Britain through the economic fallout of Brexit, as well as managing ongoing trade talks with the EU.

Despite all of these challenges, Mr Sunak remains optimistic about Britain’s future.
