Joe Biden signs executive order on abortion

U.S. President Joe Biden is pushing ahead with abortion protections, signing a new executive order to help safeguard access to the medical procedure

It follows the Supreme Court’s controversial decision to overturn the longstanding case of Roe v. Wade, which made abortion a constitutional right.

At its core, the new order ensures women can travel out of state to receive an abortion.

It also pushes health care providers comply with federal law, so women aren’t delayed in getting the care they need.

Biden says women’s health and lives are on the line.
