Ivana Trump has died aged 73 in her New York apartment. Doctors have revealed her cause of death
Ivana Trump was found in her New York apartment, believed to have suffered cardiac arrest.
She was discovered at the bottom of a staircase in her home on 10 East 64th Street in Manhattan at 12.40pm, according to police sources.
Authorities believe she suffered cardiac arrest, but the official cause of death has yet to be determined.
She was found by cops who were called to her home for a wellness check, police said.
Cardiac arrest is when the heart suddenly stops beating.
Family tributes
The news was shared by her children, Donald Jr, Ivanka and Eric Trump.
“Our mother was an incredible woman — a force in business, a world-class athlete, a radiant beauty, and caring mother and friend,” a statement from the Trump family read.
“Ivana Trump was a survivor. She fled from communism and embraced this country. She taught her children about grit and toughness, compassion and determination,” the family said.
“She will be dearly missed by her mother, her three children and ten grandchildren.”
Donald Trump’s tribute
Former President Trump shared the news himself on his social network Truth Social.
“I am very saddened to inform all of those that loved her, of which there are many, that Ivana Trump has passed away at her home in New York City,” he wrote.
“She was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life. Her pride and joy were her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric. She was so proud of them, as we were all so proud of her. Rest In Peace, Ivana!”
