Published

on

At least six people are dead and 10 others injured following a mass shooting incident in Sacramento, California.

It took place at 2:00AM local time, in an area leading to the Golden One Centre where the Sacramento Kings play basketball.

Known to be a vibrant part of the city, people fled from restaurants and bars during the early hours of Sunday local time as gunfire broke out.

Police have described the situation as “tragic” and there is no suspect in custody at this stage.

Members of the public have been urged to come forward if they have any information regarding the attacker or attackers.

It’s expected the incident will only further inflame the already intense gun violence debate throughout the US.

Sacramento’s Mayor says the fatalities are “difficult to comprehend”

He added, “rising gun violence is the scourge of our city, state and nation, and I support all actions to reduce it”.
