PayPal has expanded their services in Ukraine, with the company allowing users to send money to Ukrainians in the country as well as those seeking refuge across Europe

Previous rules only allowed Ukrainians to send money abroad but the new changes will allow Ukrainians to also receive funds and make transfers within the country.

This follows the Ukrainian government’s request to PayPal to make its services available to its citizens.

The country’s vice prime minister thanked the company on Twitter for supporting Ukraine and peace.

Only last week PayPal withdrew it services from Russia in a show of solidarity towards Ukraine.

The company has also said they will waive fees on transfers of funds to Ukrainian accounts and for those receiving funds in Ukrainian accounts until the end of June.

The money within the PayPal account an then be moved into the receiver’s local banked or can otherwise be used as a virtual Visa or Mastercard.

Since Russia invaded Ukraine, many anti-war supporters have searched for ways to help those in the Eastern European country.

Some have booked Airbnbs in the country or sent cryptocurrencies, with money transfer companies including Western Union seeing demand skyrocket.
