Serbian prosecutors say Djokovic COVID tests were valid

Serbian prosecutors have weighed in on Novak Djokovic’s COVID certificates, stating they are valid and should have been accepted by Australian officials

Prosecutors in Serbia say there’s no evidence to suggest that Novak Djokovic submitted falsified COVID test documents to Australian authorities.

Earlier reports casted doubt over the tests, suggesting the serial numbers were out of sequence with others from a similar time.

The tests were provided to exempt the tennis star from Australia’s rules barring unvaccinated people

His visa application was ultimately rejected and he was unable to play in the Australian Open after being deported.

His deportation from the country however was over coronavirus vaccination rules, not on the grounds that the documents were falsified.

The Belgrade Public Prosecutor’s office has now said that the Health Ministry confirmed the documents were authentic.
