Wild brawl erupts in Turkish parliament

A brawl has broken out amongst lawmakers in Turkish parliament as debates over budgets and policy unravel, with the country’s inflation soaring too

The debate began between Interior Minister, and the main opposition, who asked why the Interior Minister had used a plane that belonged to a man accused of money laundering.

The Interior Minister responded, yelling “you’re lying! You are a liar!”, which triggered the mass physical fight.

The turmoil reflects the strains on the streets of Turkey at the moment, where many are struggling to buy enough food and medicines, with inflation recently soaring above 21 percent.
