Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is facing sexual misconduct allegations and his brother allegedly crafted a defence for him.

A CNN spokesperson says the documents “Raise serious questions”.

CNN initially understood Chris’ need to put family first and job second but “these documents point to a greater level of involvement in his brother’s efforts than we previously knew”.

Chris Cuomo has been suspended indefinitely, pending further evaluation.

He will be replaced by Anderson Cooper who will anchor the 9 pm slot on Tuesday.

Ethical boundaries

A commentator at The Daily Beast, Wajahat Ali says there are ethical boundaries in the media industry that cannot be crossed.

“This shows you the kind of incestuous relationship between politics and media that we all should be concerned about, especially in the realm of journalism,” Ali said.

“You need to have a clear boundary here.”

Trump claims Iran’s military largely neutralized; tensions rise with attacks threatening air travel and oil shipping.

President Trump says Iran’s military capability has been largely neutralised, including its navy and air force, as the conflict in the Middle East intensifies. Iranian attacks have threatened commercial air travel and oil shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, raising fears of wider economic fallout.

The U.S. Embassy in Riyadh has faced two attacks, while Gulf states worked to intercept further Iranian strikes. Officials report six U.S. troops killed and more than 700 deaths inside Iran as the exchange of fire escalates.

With global markets watching closely, the region remains on edge as military and diplomatic tensions show no signs of easing.
