Apple’s foldable iPhone comes with a very expensive problem

Apple’s new foldable iPhone is facing questions over durability, pricing and whether it delivers enough innovation to justify its premium cost, according to Brad Gastwirth, Senior Market Analyst at Circular Technologies.

Gastwirth points to the device’s glass screens and visible crease, warning that damage could become expensive for owners if repairs are not covered by insurance.

He also argues Apple needs to deliver more significant hardware innovation, describing the company as a powerful marketing operation while suggesting the foldable could be its final major innovation of 2026.
