Economic discussions stay silent between US and China
The US has no plans to resume official economic discussions with China – continuing the Trump administration’s suspension
Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and her team are reportedly in touch with their Chinese counterparts but formal high-level talks will not resume at this stage.
This move by Yellen is another indication that the Biden administration is standing firm when it comes to China.
It follows news this week that the States is planning to send out an official warning to American companies based in Hong Kong as new data regulations are rolled out by Beijing.
It appears to be crunch time for companies stuck in the middle of China and the US… in what Biden has previously labelled as the defining battle of the 21st century.
