Putin urges Ukraine to engage in peace talks, noting possible US support for resolution in ongoing war.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has urged Ukraine to consider peace talks to end the war, suggesting that common sense could bring both sides closer to resolution.

His comments, delivered in Beijing, signal a fresh attempt to steer the conflict towards dialogue.

Speaking alongside Chinese officials, Putin hinted at a potential willingness from the United States, under President Trump, to support efforts at finding a solution. However, he remains firm that Ukraine must abandon its NATO ambitions as part of any settlement.

While Putin says he is ready to meet President Volodymyr Zelenskiy in Moscow, Zelenskiy continues to call for tougher US sanctions against Russia if negotiations collapse.

The question now: will diplomacy prevail, or is this another stalemate?
