Your chance to test out Apple’s new software update before official release

Published

on

If you’re a person who just loves the latest Apple tech, this story is for you

The tech giant has just released the first public beta version for iOS 16, its next iPhone software update.

This means anyone with an iPhone 8 or above now has the chance to test out an early version of the software before it’s officially released to the public.

But consumers should beware, as it is with all pre-release software, there’s likely to be some bugs.

Users who require their devices for work or other important activities are advised to steer clear of the trial.

The software is expected to be rolled out in full later this year, alongside brand new iPhone models.

Apple unveiled iOS-16 at its Worldwide Developer Conference back in June.

Some of the big changes include customisable lock screens, the ability to unsend or edit messages, a new Apple Pay Later service and updates to the Apple Maps service.
