Why Meghan and Harry are reuniting with the royal family

Published

on

It seems wounds are healing within the royal family, following reports Harry and Meghan have been invited to Buckingham Palace to celebrate the Queen’s platinum jubilee

If in attendance, the Duke and Duchess will likely stand on the palace balcony with their fellow royals, during the “trooping the colour” parade.

Prince Harry remains in a tense legal battle with the Home Office over security while visiting the UK, which may be a potential deterrent.

The news follows the pair recently meeting with Queen Elizabeth in-person and successfully hosting the 2022 Invictus Games in the Netherlands.

It’s believed the invitation was given following this quick stop-off, as the Queen prepares to celebrate her 96th birthday.

Harry and Megan also found time to meet with Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla.

Speaking to the BBC, Harry says “it was great” to see his grandmother.

R. Kelly sentenced to 30 years jail for sex trafficking

R&B star R Kelly has been sentenced to 30 years in jail for sex trafficking and subjecting young fans to systematic sexual abuse

The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, 55, was convicted of racketeering and sex trafficking last year at a trial that gave voice to accusers who had once wondered if their stories were being ignored because they were Black women.

He was also ordered to pay a $US100,000 fine.

US District Judge Ann Donnelly imposed the sentence after hearing from several survivors who attested to how Kelly’s exploitation had changed their lives.

R. Kelly’s accusers told the court he had preyed on them and misled his fans as the fallen R&B star listened with downcast eyes.

Lizzette Martinez, author of “Jane Doe #9 how I survived R.Kelly”, arrives to federal court in New York.

“You made me do things that broke my spirit. I literally wished I would die because of how low you made me feel,” one woman told the Grammy-winning, multiplatinum-selling singer.

“Do you remember that?”

Kelly, born Robert Sylvester Kelly, did not address the court.

Kelly’s lawyers had argued he should get no more than 10 years in prison because he had a traumatic childhood “involving severe, prolonged childhood sexual abuse, poverty, and violence”.

He was also ordered to pay a $US100,000 fine.

His lawyers painted Kelly as an adult with “literacy deficiencies,” the star was “repeatedly defrauded and financially abused, often by the people he paid to protect him”.

The Brooklyn federal court jury convicted him after hearing that he used his entourage of managers and aides to meet girls and keep them obedient.

A Chinese spacecraft has captured images of Mars circling around the planet over 13 hundred times

The crewless shuttle reached the Red Planet early last year… deploying a robotic rover.

Some of the photos captured the south pole… a first for China.

The area is known for its large water reserve… hidden under the south pole ice, which was detected by the European Space Agency’s orbiting probe.

Water is a key element in determining whether a planet has the potential for life.

Other images include a 4,000 kilometre long canyon and impact craters in the north of Mars.
