Why did the FBI raid Trump’s home?

Published

on

Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in Palm Beach has been raided by the FBI

In a statement,Trump says the property was ‘under siege’ adding nothing like this has ever happened to a former President of the United States before.

Sources close to the matter say it’s all part of an investigation into the handling of presidential documents, including classified documents, which may have been taken to Florida.

The search is a clear indication authorities are moving in on their January 6 Capitol riot investigation.

Trump says the unannounced raid comes despite him working cooperatively with the relevant law enforcement agencies.

It follows the January 6 Congressional committee probing last year’s attack on the Capitol, gathering evidence in a series of explosive hearings.

Many witnesses have accused Trump of knowingly inciting the incident as part of a deliberate plot to overthrow the 2020 election.
