US military leader says China’s hypersonic missile test ‘went around the world’

China’s long-range hypersonic missile that was tested only a few months ago reportedly “went around the world” according to the second most senior general in the United States

Talking to CBS News, the official says China launched a long-range weapon that flew around the earth, “dropped off a hypersonic glide vehicle that glided all the way back to China and struck a target”.

This follows the general previously warning that the pace of Beijing’s military advancement is “stunning” – and says a surprise nuclear attack could one day be launched against the United States.

Tensions also remain high over Taiwan as China seeks to expand its weapon’s capabilities with rumours the nation may have 1,000 nuclear warheads by the end of the decade.

The US currently has almost 4-thousand nuclear warheads in its stockpile…

As China and Russia continue developing their own hypersonic missiles, the Pentagon is ensuring developing its own versions is now a top priority.
