The foreign minister will ow travel to three African nations to rally support amid anger over the war.

Combined, Russia and Ukraine supply more than 40% of Africa’s wheat, and its these countries which are suffering the most under the current situation.

In an article published by local newspapers, Lavrov says Moscow has always “sincerely supported Africans in their struggle for freedom from the colonial yoke”.

Speaking at a press conference, he says some Western countries have only attempted to solve the Ukrainian grain issue, and are blocking out Russia.
