Miami building collapse: shocking new letter released

Published

on

A shocking letter has been leaked showing the President of the Board was aware of decay in Miami’s Champlain Towers South since at least 2018

The letter warned residents of Miami’s Camplain Towers South building that structural issues had become “significantly worse”.

The letters show the President of the Board had been aware that the building was experiencing decay since 2018.

One letter to neighbours says “the observable damage such as in the garage has gotten significantly worse since the initial inspection”.

The letters have surfaced in the wake of lawsuits over the building’s collapse

As residents and apartment owners seek damages for the disaster, a class-action lawsuit is alleging that the condo association board’s “reckless and negligent conduct” was responsible for the collapse.

Attorney Adam Schwartz-baum says the fact that a 20-18 survey indicated that there was serious structural problems is a major concern.

He says “based on our investigation, there were many warnings signs more than 10 years ago; maybe even longer”.
