Former trump advisor still refusing to testify

Former Trump heavyweight, Steve Bannon is on trial in the U.S. for refusing to cooperate with the committee investigating the January 6 attack on the Capitol

Jury selection for the court appearance has begun.

Bannon faces two counts of contempt of Congress after refusing to testify or provide relevant documents about his involvement in Trump’s presidential defeat.

The committee also wants to question the former advisor about his involvement in organising protests which led to the January 6 attack.

There has been a particular interest in Bannon’s communications with Trump in the days before the riot, and the “war room” meetings held at a hotel near the White House.

Meanwhile, in a popular podcast, he warned on January 5 that “all hell” was going to break loose the following day.

Bannon was first requested to appear in front of the committee in September 2021, and he was held in contempt of Congress a month later.

Washington D.C. has been under pressure to ban the popular Chinese-owned social media app TikTok.

TikTok users could soon find that the popular social media service is either under new ownership or could be outright banned in the U.S.
