Fans tribute to Fleetwood Mac’s Christine McVie

Christine McVie, the co-lead vocalist and keyboardist of Fleetwood Mac, has died at age 79.

The band has announced the news on Twitter, writing in a statement:

“There are no words to describer our sadness at the passing of Christine McVie. She was truly one-of-a-kind, special and talented beyond measure. She was the best musician anyone could have in their band and the best friend anyone could have in their life.”

“We were so lucky to have a life with her. Individually and together, we cherished Christine deeply and are thankful for the amazing memories we have. She will be so very missed.”

McVie wrote hits including Little Lies, Everywhere and Don’t Stop.

She died peacefully at a hospital with her family by her side.

British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac, founded in London in 1967, sold more than 100 million records worldwide, making them one of the most successful groups ever.
