China’s President warns against aggression

China’s President Xi JinPing has warned the United States and its allies against unnecessary aggression during an address

XI hit out at “acts of containment, suppression and confrontation” during the opening of the World Economic Forum’s online conference.

China’s president says there will be catastrophic consequences if America continues pushing its aggressive agenda and world peace will be impacted as a result.

XI urged the United States to “discard the Cold War mentality” and seek a peaceful coexistence.

He says acts of putting together exclusive small circles or blocs will gravely undercut international efforts to tackle common challenges.

Since the departure of Trump from the White House, the US has issued a number of sanctions and policies designed to curtail Chinese enterprises and technological development.

While some have been in the name of national security others are in response to alleged human rights violations in both Xin-jiang and Hong Kong.

Also during his address, XI called on nations to secure global supply chains and prevent inflation shock in an attempt to promote the steady recovery of the world economy.
