‘Total rubbish’: Feud brewing between PM and UK media

Published

There is a feud brewing in the UK between media outlets and British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson.

The feud follows conservative publication The Daily Mail reporting that Johnson would rather see “bodies piled high in their thousands” than move the nation into another lockdown.

“No more f***ing lockdowns – let the bodies pile high in their thousands.”

Several further media outlets have come forward to confirm the remarks. As it stands, broadcasters and publishers across the UK are on a collision course with the Prime Minister.

University of London’s Suzanne Franks says “it is pretty remarkable to see both the BBC and ITV go out on such a limb about this, as they’ve never done this before”.

The BBC is of particular note given the UK’s public broadcaster typically only reports on these issues when it has a high degree of confidence in the source.
