Former tennis World No.1 Ash Barty has confirmed her next exciting career move

Aussie superstar Ash Barty will play in the inaugural icons series golf tournament in New Jersey, United States, in June.

The series is an innovative tournament that brings global sporting icons together for a competitive team match.

Barty will join ‘The Rest Of The World’ team alongside other sporting legends like Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and England striker Harry Kane.

Golf legend Ernie Els will captain the Rest of the World team with the tournament to be broadcast on the major United States network, NBC.

They will take on ‘Team USA’ led by Fred Couples, which is filled with other sporting heroes from around the world.

“I’m excited to be part of the Icons Series and I hope through my participation in the series that we can encourage more women and girls to participate in golf around the world”

The 25-year-old shocked the world when she retired from Tennis at the top of her career.

It’s no surprise though that Barty is showing her interest in other sports, with many hoping she’ll make her way into professional cricket or football.

However, for now, her eyes are set on the golfing green. Barty’s latest announcement will no doubt do her fiance Garry Kissick proud, who is currently hoping to crack it on the pro tour.
