Bye Facebook – GIPHY is being sold

Published

on

I’m sure there’s a GIF for this, but Meta is selling its animated platform GIPHY

It’s all part of a decision from the UK’s competition watchdog, which has been going back and forth with the tech giant for months.

The group believes Meta’s purchase of the gif-sharing website could get in the way of social media users and advertisers.

It’s the first time the UK has blocked a business venture by Meta.

The social media giant bought GIPHY back in 2020.

It says it’s disappointed by the decision but accepts the decision.
