Queen’s coffin arrives at Buckingham Palace

Published

Thousands of people have lined the streets of London to catch a glimpse of the Queen’s coffin, as it made its way to Buckingham Palace

Illuminated inside a black hearse so the public could see her coffin, the Queen made her final trip through the streets of London, to the crowds who’d come to pay their respects at Buckingham Palace.

Thousands of people lined the motorways to catch a glimpse of the Queen’s motorcade as it travels from RAF Northolt to central London.

In the darkness, the crowds were silent, some waiting days to hold their position.

But as the hearse and cortege made its way around Buckingham Palace, it was too much for some.

Wiping away tears as the Queen made her final homecoming.

Applause and shouts of “rest in peace” also met the cortège as it proceeded towards the Mall and round the Victoria Monument.

As the hearse passed through the palace gates, a guard of honour formed, and crowds cheered.

It had been just months earlier when the Queen had waved them goodbye from the balcony for her jubilee celebrations.

Now they’d come to pay their respects to a monarch who meant so much.

Earlier in Scotland, the Queen’s only daughter arrived, to escort the coffin home to London.

Thousands came to say goodbye to the monarch who had so loved their home.

As the Queen’s coffin was carried to the hearse, and taken to the airport.

A poignant chapter as the nation says goodbye.

Crude oil surges 7% amid fears of Middle East conflict; Strait of Hormuz disruptions may push Brent over $100.

Crude oil prices spiked dramatically as investors react to the growing risk of a wider conflict in the Middle East. U.S. crude surged 7.2 percent, trading near $71.84 a barrel, signalling heightened concern across energy markets.

The Strait of Hormuz, a critical shipping chokepoint, has come under intense scrutiny. Rising war-risk insurance premiums and suspended tanker traffic are already slowing the movement of oil, creating ripple effects in global supply chains.

JPMorgan has warned that prolonged disruptions over three weeks could force Gulf producers to reduce output, potentially pushing Brent crude prices to between $100 and $120 a barrel. Markets are closely watching for developments that could reshape global energy pricing.

President Trump has declared this is the final opportunity to strike Iran as conflict intensifies across the Middle East, outlining four key military objectives including dismantling Iran’s missile capabilities and targeting its navy.

The U.S. says its mission is to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon and to halt its alleged support for terrorist groups abroad, signalling a potentially prolonged campaign in the region.

Four U.S. troops have already been killed, with officials warning further casualties are possible as operations continue.
