After a 6 year long break, the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner has finally resumed

The event was cancelled for the past two years due to covid restrictions and before that was boycotted by former US President Donald Trump.

Comedian Trevor Noah hosted the gala event, joined by an audience full of celebrities, renowned journalists and US officials.

Among the guests were Kim Kardashian, Pete Davidson and Drew Barrymore.

In his speech, President Biden pointed out he is the first president to attend the event since 2016 and discussed the important role of journalists, especially amid the war in Ukraine.

The event was marked with many more speeches addressing the essential role of journalism in society.
