Trump’s former chief of staff cooperating with January 6 investigators

Published

on

Donald Trump’s former chief of staff, Mark Meadows is cooperating with the House select committee as the investigation into the January 6 Capitol riots continues

Medows has agreed to provide extensive records and appear for an initial interview… which is noticeably a big shift in the relationship between the committee and the Trump ally.

Democratic Representative Bernie Thompson says “Meadows has been engaging with the Select Committee through his attorney and will soon appear for an initial deposition”.

Thompson made it clear that the Committee expects all witnesses to provide any information that is required to advance the investigation.

Meadows’ lawyer also provided a statement, saying there is now an understanding between the two parties on how information can be exchanged.

But there are still concerns this agreement will break down if the two parties fail to reach consensus on what is privileged information and what is not.
