Following North Korea firing a series of missiles in weapons test launches, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is warning of the rogue nation’s increasing instability

Blinken says he is “concerned about these repeated violations of Security Council resolutions that he believes creates greater prospects for instability and insecurity”.

This follows North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong Un condemning recent US dialogue against his country, calling it a “petty trick”.

It remains to be confirmed whether or not North Korea’s claims that it has tested a hypersonic gliding missile are true.

Hypersonic gliding missiles are high-tech weapons that can fly at five times the speed of sound.

The United States, Britain and France will convene at a Security Council meeting on North Korea on Friday in response to this news.

Meanwhile, North Korea relations specialist Jenny Town says North Korea is just continuing to grow
