13 Reasons Why star Tommy Dorfman has opened up about her life after coming out as trans in 2021

In the podcast ‘Broad Ideas’, Dorfman spoke about her early years in showbiz, and how marrying her ex-husband made her feel “safe” at the time.

Dorfman says she would have transitioned a lot sooner if it wasn’t for the 13 Reasons Why role.

The Netflix series was one of the streaming giant’s highest-rating original shows.

Dorfman says her work was so tied to her body, face and identify at the time… and this delayed some of her personal growth and maturation… making decisions out of fear.

As a teen, the actor says she always felt like she “wasn’t in the right place or the right time”… but she now understands the meaning of her own life.
