Popular sunscreen brand recalled due to “cancer risk”

Published

on

A popular brand of sunscreen is being recalled in Australia after traces of the chemical “benzene” were found in some batches.

The Therapeutic Goods Administration has issued the alert for the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Body Mist Sunscreen Spray SPF 50+ aerosol sunscreen.

The TGA says batches with an expiry date of August 30, 2023, or earlier should not be used due to possible health risks linked to benzene.

Benzene is classified as a human carcinogen, a substance that could potentially cause cancer

Consumers are being urged that they should discard the products and seek a refund via the Neutrogena website.

All unsold products will be removed from the market.

Johnson & Johnson product testing detected benzene at concentrations in some batches supplied in Australia.

To Australian standards, TGA has limits on these types of solvents and benzene must be below a concentration of two parts per million (ppm) in medicines. This includes sunscreen products that are listed as medicines.

Tinder, primarily known as a dating app, is now being repurposed by Chinese youth as a job-searching tool. Users are leveraging the platform’s network and communication features to connect with potential employers and explore career opportunities.

It appears to be a creative adaptation to fill the void left by LinkedIn, a platform renowned for professional networking.

This unconventional job-hunting trend has gained momentum, showcasing the adaptability and resourcefulness of the younger generation in China when faced with unexpected circumstances.

LinkedIn plans to maintain a certain level of presence in China, focusing on offering services to companies operating within the country. These services will facilitate hiring and training of employees based outside of China, as confirmed by a spokesperson from the company.
