Michigan Court rules in favour of abortion ban

A Michigan court has officially reinstated the state’s abortion ban, after a different court blocked authorities from enforcing the law

It’s a win for anti-abortion prosecutors who have sought to enforce the legislation following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

Michigan’s law makes it a felony to perform the procedure except to save the pregnant woman’s life.

In May, the state’s Court of Claims issued a temporary injunction blocking the Attorney General from enforcing the ban.

But on Monday, the Court of Appeals found county prosecutors were not bound by the order.

In Washington, the White House says the only way to secure a woman’s rights to choose is through legislation.
