Will Smith has apologised to Chris Rock and Oscars viewers a day after slapping Rock live at the Academy Awards

Taking to Instagram, Smith said his behaviour was “inexcusable”.

“Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive,” he says

“My behaviour at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable.

“I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris, I was out of line and I was wrong.”

This follows a statement released by the Academy condemning Will Smith’s actions at last night’s show.

A formal review has officially kicked off with The Academy exploring further action and consequences in accordance with their Standards of Conduct and California law.

Meanwhile, Actor Will Smith was dancing the night away at a post-Oscars bash after causing the biggest scandal in the Academy Award’s 94-year history.
