“It was like sex trafficking”: Britney Spears pleads for freedom from toxic father

Superstar Britney Spears has addressed a US court, discussing her controversial conservatorship that has sparked a global movement.

Spears spoke for around 20 minutes, reading from a letter and saying she just wants her life back.

She continued saying “a lot has happened since two years ago, the last time I was in court. I haven’t been back to court because I didn’t feel I was heard”.

It has also been revealed that Britney was forced to perform, given no privacy and was made to use birth control, take medication and attend therapy sessions against her will.

Britney says the drug she was forced to take can make people become mentally impaired if used for longer than five months.

From the letter, she reads “I felt drunk, I couldn’t even have a conversation with my mom or dad about anything. They had me with six different nurses.”

This is the first time Spears has addressed a court since her attorney filed to suspend her father as conservator of Spear’s estate.

Jamie Spears has been Britney’s conservator since 2008 following a spate of personal battles, which were often played out in the public eye.

In regards to the role her father plays, Britney says “the control he had to hurt his own daughter… he loved it. I worked seven days a week … it was like sex trafficking. I didn’t have a credit card, cash or my passport.”

Spears added “anything I had to do, my dad was the one who approved all of it. My whole family did nothing.”
